West Athens Marches
North of the Tower Road and immediately west of the Wide lies an area of fertile farmland, cleared many years ago during the days of the Old Empire. Today this region is empty and uninhabited aside from wild beasts. Its norther border is defined by the eaves of the Whill Wood, a great verdant forest that stretches for miles to the north, until one comes to the low hills on the edge of Northheath.
The Whill is visited by a few trappers and other hardy folk, and is reasonably safe compared to the wilder and less frequently traveled Feywood to the west. Still, it’s common knowledge that goblins and worse things lurk in the shady avenues beneath the trees, and both Cobb Hill and Poison Creek in the northern parts of the Whill have a particularly sinister reputation.
